1970年，年仅12岁的黄碧瑶跟随父母和四姐妹共一家七口来到澳大利亚，初抵异乡，她也经历过语言不通、沟通受阻的艰难时光，好在全家同心，几经努力终于在墨尔本定居。自那时起，黄碧瑶就在餐馆打工贴补家用，既熟练了广东话，又不断巩固英语，就这样逐渐融入了本土文化。

In 1970, Huang Biyao, 12, came to Australia with her parents and four sisters, seven of them. She was a stranger at first. 黄碧瑶这一生与武术颇有缘分。“我从小就喜欢读武侠小说，尤其是金庸的。当时也是躲着父母读，每天晚上熄灯之后就蒙上被子，拿着家里的台灯藏在被子里一看就是一夜”，她提起小时候的故事，眉飞色舞，一脸俏皮。长大后，加上受到丈夫吴国树 (Barry Pang) 对武术热爱的感染，18岁起她就在先生的“吴国树功夫馆”开始练习咏春，习得武术精髓，弘扬中华文化。在此期间，黄碧瑶与不少空手道、跆拳道高手过招切磋，参加了大量功夫竞赛，赢得了各类重量级奖牌，最杰出的成绩便是于1987年荣获澳洲新西兰功夫冠军。

此后，她与丈夫齐心协力将中国功夫推广到了墨尔本的各大高校，在墨尔本大学、墨尔本皇家理工大学、斯威本科技大学等都开设了武术社团并担任教练。即使已获如此殊荣，黄碧瑶也没有止步于此——1990年起，她开始融合传统武术精华与自身经验为一体，自创女子自卫术，传授给各界女性，在澳洲民间引起了巨大反响。最终，她于1998年获得业界认可的最高荣誉——女子自卫术名人堂奖，成为澳洲获得此类奖项的第一位女性。“功夫是让人感受到身心合一的完美方式。它不单单是一种肢体技能，更代表了一种为人处事、待人接物的方法。” 说起功夫，她侃侃而谈，“练习功夫需要调动全身心，有助于集中注意力，对我而言正好可以切断外界的纷扰，给自己休个假。”正是这种从练习功夫中衍生的专注精神铺就了黄碧瑶日后自强不息，奋斗不止的人生道路。

Even though she had been so honored, Huang Biyao did not stop there. Since 1990, she began to integrate the essence of traditional Wushu with her own experience, and self created women's self-defense techniques have taught women in all walks of life, which has aroused great repercussions in Australian folk. Finally, she won the highest recognition in 1998 - the hall of fame Award for women's self-defense, and became the first woman to win such awards in Australia. "Kung Fu is a perfect way to feel the unity of body and mind. It is not only a physical skill, but also a way to deal with things and treat people. " Speaking of Kung Fu, she said, "practicing kung fu requires a whole body, which helps to focus on it. For me, it can cut off the disturbance from the outside world and take a vacation for myself." It is this kind of concentration spirit derived from practicing kung fu that paves the way of life for huangbiyao to keep improving and striving for more than one day.

源于热爱，终成行家

黄碧瑶在艺术方面的才能自小便崭露了头角——“我小时候还喜欢画画，每天都把挂在家里的黄页日历撕下来，在背后随意涂鸦，”说着她就在纸张后面比划起来。画画不单是她小时候快乐的源泉，所成的画作往往也都能博家中长辈一乐。渐渐地，从小对绘画的痴迷便构筑了黄碧瑶的艺术情结，以至于后来在大学本科选择专业时，“我都没有听从父母的意愿去学法学医，因为实在太想读艺术系了”——她边回忆边感叹。最终她毅然决然投身艺术，于1980年获授墨尔本大学的荣誉文学学士学位，这便也为其日后的艺术之路奠定了初步的基础。

Painting is not only the source of happiness when she was a child, but also the paintings she has made can also be a joy for her elders. Gradually, the obsession with painting from childhood has built Huang Biyao's artistic complex, so that when I chose major in University, she lamented as she recalled that "I didn't listen to my parents' wishes to study law medicine because I really wanted to study art department". Finally, she decided to devote herself to art and won the honourable Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Melbourne in 1980, which laid a preliminary foundation for her future art road.

大学毕业后，除了料理武术馆、房地产公司， 黄碧瑶还开起了自己的女子自卫术学校。然而她总是觉得一直在帮助丈夫完成心愿，自己的却还没实现——“在成功开办功夫学校完成先生的理想之后，突然有一天停下来想想，觉得自己的都还没实现就觉得很委屈。于是就把Barry带到了一家画廊，让他也接触我喜欢的事物。”这一次画廊之行恰好促成了黄女士事业的转机，她独特的艺术视角与吴先生敏锐的商业嗅觉互为补充，相得益彰，开启了夫妇二人的艺术品收藏之旅。

几乎在同时期改变了黄女士一生的另一件事是，1996年她与父母同去马来西亚的东马沙捞越游玩时，发现其太公黄乃裳曾于1901计划并实施了中国历史上首次集体南下，沿丝绸之路移民到沙捞越的壮举。于是回到墨尔本之后，黄女士就开始着手研究这段历史，在蒙纳什大学攻读亚洲历史博士学位。尽管身兼数职，事业繁忙，但历经十三年的努力后，她于2009年毕业，并出版了两本相关书籍。现在，黄女士还在积极联系福建当地的电影投资商和制作组，想将祖先黄乃裳的爱国爱民事迹拍成电影宣传片，夸大其影响，启迪后人。可见，对东西方艺术文化的热爱和积淀是黄碧瑶不断促进中澳文化交流融合的动力和源泉。

Another thing that changed Ms. Huang's life almost at the same time was that in 1996, when she went to Malaysia with her parents to visit dongmalalao Yue, she found that Huang Naishang, the prince of her father, had planned and implemented the feat of emigrating to Sarawak along the Silk Road for the first time in Chinese history. So back in Melbourne, Ms. Huang began to study the history and study it and studied her Ph.D. in Asian history from Monash University. Despite her busy career and several roles, she graduated in 2009 and published two books after 13 years of hard work. 吴国树先生于1980年对澳洲主流的赛马运动产生兴趣，出于热爱，黄女士和丈夫便积极研究马的血统、品种，精心挑选马匹、驯马师和骑手。1987年就曾以名马“马王”赢得Caulfield Guineas的冠军，后因赛马和驯马师的双双去世淡出各大赛事。直至在与“澳洲第一赛马夫人”活候夫人盖的默契合作下分别于2013年和2014年获得墨尔本杯(MelbourneCup 2013) 及澳洲杯(Australian Cup 2014)的赛马冠军，两次均为华人首次赢得澳洲赛马的最高荣誉，创造了赛马界的历史。吴先生夫妇参与赛马这项澳洲主流社会的高尚运动并夺冠让在澳华人挺直了腰杆，也令澳洲主流社会纷纷对华人刮目相看，更有助于推进中西双方的文化交流和融合。

身为维州澳华社区会议的前代理会长（现因染恙退休）、澳华工商妇女协会的名誉会长以及澳洲足球总会多元文化顾问会的成员，黄女士一直积极参与社区活动，为争取华人权益和地位贡献自己的力量。2014年为反对澳联邦总检察长布兰迪计划对《反种族歧视法》18C做出针对少数族裔的不利修改，Dr. Pang在报纸、电台、社区等各种不同的媒体平台上发声，并发起相应的签名征集活动，上诉堪培拉，最终在民众的支持下成功打消了执政党修改反种族歧视法案的念头。期间，她在SBS电台发表的反种族歧视的讲话，呼吁华人社团在危机中团结共进，振奋人心。

As the former acting president of Australian and Chinese Community Conference in Victoria (now retired due to the injury), honorary president of Australian and Chinese Association of business and women and member of the multicultural Advisory Council of Australian Football Association, Ms. Huang has been actively involved in community activities and contributed her own strength to the interests and status of Chinese. In 2014, in order to make adverse changes to the anti racial discrimination act 18C against the federal attorney general brandy, Dr. Pang made a voice on various media platforms such as newspapers, radio stations and communities, and launched corresponding signature collection activities, appealed to Canberra, and finally successfully eliminated the idea of the ruling party to amend the anti racial discrimination act with the support of the people. 黄碧瑶还刚刚成立了澳华基金会， 致力于志愿筹集善款，希望为更多人出一分力，欢迎需要帮助的人前来联系。她再三强调自己的成就都要归功于父母，是他们的言传身教为她树立了最好的榜样——其母温州同乡会的名誉会长、侨友社中文学校名誉校长黄贤檥，其父福州十邑同乡会名誉会长黄磊皆是华人界倍受尊敬的侨领，多年来致力于华人社团的公益事业。身为基督教徒，黄女士认为生命本身重在对意义的追寻，而不是名利的丰收，“根据马斯洛需求层次的原理，最高的人生境界应属追寻自我实现，与人共享。因此无论在外界看来多么低级或者微小的贡献都很可贵，就好像水滴石穿一般，是实现社会价值不可或缺的基础。”

She repeatedly stressed that her achievements are due to her parents, and that their teaching and deeds set her the best example: Huang Xianhe, the honorary president of Wenzhou Tongxiang Association, and Huang Xianhe, honorary president of overseas Chinese School of overseas Chinese Association, and Huang Lei, the honorary president of Fuzhou Shiyi community, are respected overseas Chinese leaders in Chinese community, and have been committed to the public welfare of Chinese associations for many years. 大儿子吴育刚(Christopher Pang)，自幼便爱好电影艺术，又传承了父母的功夫衣钵，逐渐走上了演员的道路。他参演了于2010年上映的澳洲电影史上费用最高的动作片“破晓开战”(Tomorrow when the War began)并在其中担任男主角，这在澳洲华人电影史上属首次，后又于2011年获得好莱坞亚洲电影节最佳男演员称号，更成为了澳洲华人中极少出名的演员。他还在“卧虎藏龙”第二部中扮演了“飞刀李” 一角。

二儿子吴育家(JohnPang)也从小爱好体育健身，对生物医药有浓厚的兴趣，还在攻读心理学位。2015年已进入医药企业，开发治疗关节炎的药品多肽，日后将成为澳洲华人中少有的医药企业家。

His second son, johnpang, was also a child who was interested in physical fitness, had a strong interest in biomedicine and was also studying for a degree in psychology. In 2015, it has entered pharmaceutical enterprises to develop drug peptides for arthritis treatment, and will become a rare medical entrepreneur among Australian Chinese in the future.
