新京报讯（见习记者 郭懿萌）6月17日，建川博物馆官方微博发布消息称：“猪坚强于16日晚10点50分因年老衰竭往生。”新京报记者从建川博物馆处获悉，猪坚强去世的消息属实。

17日，新京报记者致电猪坚强原主人万兴明，他表示，听说猪坚强去世还是有一点不舍，自己当时的心愿是希望猪坚强自然死亡，现在心愿也算是实现了。

2008年5月12日的汶川地震中，一头家猪在万兴明已成废墟的家中奇迹存活36天，一时闻名全国被称为“猪坚强”。随后建川博物馆花了3008元将猪坚强买走，又捐赠了一万元资助万兴明家。猪坚强被接到四川建川博物馆生活。

当时游客们已从全国各地过来和它告别。5月11日，新京报记者在现场看到，猪坚强基本就只能维持着右侧着地的姿势侧躺，除了吃饭时能勉强立起两条前腿。安仁古镇上的兽医给猪坚强做检查后表示，它的心跳还算正常，但是体温只有37℃，比正常猪的体温低1℃多。为了增强体质，兽医给猪坚强开了葡萄糖，一瓶500毫升，他还开了鱼石脂和碘伏，由饲养员涂在褥疮和猪蹄上，对伤口能起到一定治疗作用。

5月12日，猪坚强的原主任万兴明夫妇也从四川彭州龙门山镇老家赶到大邑县建川博物馆，猪坚强看到他们拿着食物进来，勉强立起两条前腿，万兴明的妻子蹲下把手里的苞谷一粒粒搓下来，堆到猪坚强面前给它吃。最后它吃了一根苞谷，5根莴笋。
