曹聪山，浙江磐安人，笔名平象，64年参军，在湖州嘉兴军分区司令部机关工作，曾受著名书画家谭建丞、钱君匋等先生指导。76年转业到地方，又师承中国左书大师胡俊锋先生，著名书法家刘文华老师的悉心指教，后赴北京参加中国书法家协会、清华大学主办的书法创作高级研修班学习，更得益于沈鹏，欧阳中石老师的精辟指点，书艺卓有所长进。多次参加省、市、全国、世界书法大赛多次获得金奖，被主办单位收藏，作品入展英国、美国、法国、韩国、澳大利亚、捷克、波兰、日本东京等，作品入编《世界大百科全》《世界名人录》《世界艺术大师辞典》《国礼珍藏册》等几十部精品典集。

   作品被前国家主席胡锦涛等多位中央领导人及台湾国民党前主席连载、前香港行政长官曾荫权、中国首富李嘉诚、陈恩先生、人民大会堂、上海世博中国馆、台湾故宫博院收藏。

  国际国内文化部首授予《世界艺术大师》《国际文艺泰斗》《世界当代最伟大的艺术家》《世界十大殿堂级艺术大师》《当代世界顶级艺术大师》《全球当代再具收藏价值艺术家》《国家一级书法师》《中国十大国宝级艺术家》《共和国十大传世名家》《一代宗师》《中国行书宗师八大家》《篆书宗师八大家》《隶书宗师八大家》《中国艺术博士》《国家顶级诗书画名家》被聘清华大学书法客座教授。并批准享受“最高荣誉文化特殊津贴”。

  现为联合国教科文组织专家委员会委员、世界书法家协会会员、中国书法家协会会员、中国国学学会副主席、中国艺术博览馆副馆长、凤鸣书画院院长、中南海诗书画院名誉院长、香港特区书画院副院长。

Cao Congshan, born in Pan'an, Zhejiang Province, with a pen name of Ping Xiang, joined the army in 64 years, worked in the headquarters of the Jiaxing Military Division in Huzhou, and was guided by famous calligraphers and painters Tan Jiancheng, Qian Juntao, etc. In 1976, he transferred to the local industry, and learned from the careful guidance of the Chinese Zuoshu master, Mr. Hu Junfeng, and the famous calligrapher, Mr. Liu Wenhua, and then went to Beijing to participate in the advanced study class of calligraphy creation sponsored by the Chinese Calligraphers Association and Tsinghua University. He also benefited from the insightful guidance of Mr. Shen Peng and Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi, and made great progress in calligraphy. He has participated in the provincial, municipal, national and world calligraphy competitions for many times and won the gold medal. His works have been collected by the organizers. His works have been exhibited in the United Kingdom, the United States, France, South Korea, Australia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Tokyo, Japan, etc. His works have been included in dozens of excellent collections such as the Encyclopedia of the World, the World Who's Who, the Dictionary of the World's Artists, and the Collection of National Rites.

The works were serialized by many central leaders including former President Hu Jintao and former Chairman of the Taiwan Kuomintang, former Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang, China's richest man Li Ka-shing, Mr. Chen En, the Great Hall of the People, the China Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo, and the Taiwan Palace Museum.

The head of international and domestic culture awarded "World Artists", "International Literary and Artistic Masters", "The World's Greatest Contemporary Artists", "The World's Top Ten Hall Level Artists", "Contemporary World Top Artists", "The World's Contemporary Artists with Collection Value", "National First-class Calligraphers", "China's Top Ten National Treasure Level Artists", "China's Top Ten Inherited Famous Artists", "One Generation Master", and "China's Top Eight Calligraphers" "Eight masters of seal script", "Eight masters of official script", "Doctor of Chinese Art" and "National Top Poets, Calligraphers and Painters" were invited as visiting professors of calligraphy at Tsinghua University. It is also approved to enjoy the "highest honor cultural special allowance".

He is now a member of the UNESCO Expert Committee, a member of the World Calligraphers Association, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a vice chairman of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Studies, a vice curator of the Chinese Art Expo, a president of the Fengming Calligraphy and Painting Academy, an honorary president of the Zhongnanhai Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and a vice president of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
