孟庭苇，原名陈秀玫，中国台湾女歌手。

Meng Tingwei, formerly known as Chen Xiumei, is a Taiwanese female singer.

60年代的台湾，经济得到了较大的发展，老百姓的生活得到了很大的改善，普通人家里用上电饭锅，广大女性开始穿丝袜，而大陆人根本没见过这些东西，直到八九十年代才有所改变。

In the 1960s, Taiwan's economy has been greatly developed, and the people's lives have been greatly improved. Ordinary people use electric rice cookers, and women begin to wear silk stockings. However, the mainland people have never seen these things before, and it did not change until the 1980s and 1990s.

1969年12月22日，孟庭苇出生于台湾省高雄市。1920年9月，行政区域改革开始，日本殖民统治者除了将地名从“打狗”改为“高雄”外，还将该市划为“高雄郡高雄街”，隶属于高雄州；四年后废除高雄郡，直接将高雄街改设为“高雄市”，仍隶属于高雄州。

Meng Tingwei was born on December 22, 1969 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan Province. In September 1920, when the administrative reform began, the Japanese colonial rulers not only changed the place name from "dog beating" to "Kaohsiung", but also classified the city as "Kaohsiung County Kaohsiung Street", which was subordinate to Kaohsiung Prefecture. Four years later, Kaohsiung County was abolished and Kaohsiung street was directly changed into "Kaohsiung City", which still belonged to Kaohsiung Prefecture.

孟母三迁只为儿，可见成长、学习、生活环境对一个人的未来有着巨大影响。高雄市是南台湾的文化中心与近代台湾与外界联系的重要窗口，其文化是在传统文化的基础上，开埠后与传入影响高雄的欧美文化和日本文化融合逐步形成而兼容的产物。近代工商文明和西方文化的引入，使得高雄区别于其他地方的文化，在包括饮食、音乐、艺术、民俗等方面都可以体现独特现象，具有开放而又自成一体的风格。

Kaohsiung City is the cultural center of Southern Taiwan and an important window for modern Taiwan to connect with the outside world. Its culture is based on the traditional culture, and gradually formed and compatible with the European and American culture and Japanese culture. With the introduction of modern industrial and commercial civilization and Western culture, Kaohsiung is different from other cultures. It can reflect unique phenomena in diet, music, art and folk customs, and has an open and self-contained style.

1995年6月，孟庭苇赴英国剑桥游学。

In June 1995, Meng Tingwei visited Cambridge, England.

2000年底，孟庭苇突然宣布退出演艺圈之后专心研修佛法，曾差点前往印度出家。她虔诚实行佛法之外也是一位素食者，茹素超过二十年。

At the end of 2000, Meng Tingwei suddenly announced that he was quitting the performing arts circle. After concentrating on Buddhism, he almost went to India to become a monk. In addition to her devout practice of Buddhism, she has been a vegetarian for more than 20 years.

1989年因出演机车广告而开始演艺生涯。1991年发行第三张个人专辑《你看你看月亮的脸》而成名，之后演唱的歌曲《冬季到台北来看雨》《没有情人的情人节》《谁的眼泪在飞》《羞答答的玫瑰静悄悄地开》《风中有朵雨做的云》等在华语地区流行。

In 1989, he began his acting career as a motorcycle commercial. In 1991, he released his third solo album "you see the face of the moon". After that, his songs such as "winter to Taipei to see the rain", "Valentine's day without lovers", "whose tears are flying", "shy roses blooming quietly", "clouds made of rain in the wind" are popular in Chinese speaking areas.

1995年2月受邀参加央视春晚。2000年底宣布退出演艺圈。2001年推出个人首张佛教音乐专辑《阿弥陀佛》。2004年12月21日宣布复出 。2011年举办纯真年代之月亮说话演唱会  。2014年获得华语金曲奖30年殿堂级歌手奖  ，同年8月开始在北京等11座城市举办了12场“孟庭苇的台北爱情故事巡回演唱会”。

In February 1995, he was invited to attend the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. At the end of 2000, he announced his withdrawal from the performing arts circle. In 2001, he released his first Buddhist music album Amitabha. His return was announced on 21 December 2004. In 2011, the moon talk concert was held in the age of innocence. In 2014, he won the 30-year palace singer award of the Chinese Golden Melody Award. In August of the same year, 12 "Meng Tingwei's Taipei Love Story Tour" was held in 11 cities including Beijing.

2015年2月，受邀担任海峡卫视音乐专题节目《你又来听我唱这首歌》的首期嘉宾；温哥华时间2月21日晚受邀参加温哥华2015年大温羊年春晚；3月10日受邀参加北京卫视《音乐大师课》节目录制 ；6月20日参加山东东营万达广场亮灯仪式 ；7月12日受邀参加河南.开封万汇龙国际商贸城一期工程封顶庆典晚会暨群星演唱会  ；7月19日受邀参加印度尼西亚的巴厘岛-美国富豪集团企业活动 ；8月9日受邀参加澳洲.悉尼澳洲东方传媒广播电视集团八周年慈善文艺晚会 ；12月19日在江苏靖江体育中心举办出道25周年“醇爱”演唱会 。

In February 2015, he was invited to be the first guest of Taiwan Strait satellite TV's music program "you come to listen to me sing this song again"; on the evening of February 21, Vancouver time, he was invited to participate in the Vancouver 2015 Spring Festival Gala of Da Wen Yang year; on March 10, he was invited to participate in the program recording of "music master class" by Beijing Satellite TV; on June 20, he participated in the lighting ceremony of Wanda Square in Dongying, Shandong Province; on July 12, he was invited to participate in Wanda Square, Kaifeng, Henan Province On July 19, he was invited to participate in the Bali American Regal group enterprise activity in Indonesia; on August 9, he was invited to attend the 8th Anniversary Charity Art Evening of Australia Oriental media radio and Television Group in Sydney, Australia; on December 19, he held a concert of "Chun AI" for the 25th anniversary of his debut in Jingjiang Sports Center, Jiangsu Province.

2016年1月31日，受邀参加“经典永恒2016岳阳演唱会”；3月7日《巅峰音乐汇》孟庭苇专场播出；3月27日做客江苏苏州音乐广播电台动听948《人文音乐课·声音剧场》  ；3月28日受邀赴北京出席“2016首届冀州花田音乐生活节新闻发布会” ；5月21日受邀参加“江西宜春金悦湾歌友会” ；5月29日受邀参加“关爱留守儿童·情系大爱陕西”红星美羚群星演唱会  ；8月27日担任卓依婷北京演唱会特别嘉宾  ；10月21日受邀参加银川市贺兰山体育场举行的“金秋十月·唱响银川”群星演唱会 。

2018年9月24日，受邀参加2018年中央广播电视总台中秋晚会。

On September 24, 2018, he was invited to attend the Mid Autumn Festival Party of CCTV.

2019年9月12日，受邀参加CCTV3《2019中秋大会》 ；参与录制的江苏卫视《蒙面唱将猜猜猜》分别于10月20日（第2期）、10月27日（第3期）播出。

On September 12, 2019, he was invited to participate in CCTV3 "2019 Mid Autumn Festival conference"; Jiangsu Satellite TV's "masked singing will guess" was broadcast on October 20 (issue 2) and October 27 (issue 3).

2020年7月18日，在世界文化艺术界联合会“每日一星”评选活动中被评为“信念宗旨星”。
