张水奇，男，汉族，1950年出生在河南许昌一个中等烟行商人的家庭。1967年许昌一高毕业，参加工作。83年调入许昌地区文化局电影公司，84年调入地区文化局，85年任地区文化局招待所所长，88年许昌东方大剧院任总经理。张水厅不仅是当地著名的企业家，还是一位民间收藏家。从78年搞文物收藏至今。
Zhang Shuiqi, male, Han nationality, was born in Xuchang, Henan Province in 1950. In 1967, Xu Chang graduated from high school and took part in work. Zhang Shuiting is not only a famous local entrepreneur, but also a folk collector. Since the collection of cultural relics in 1978.
许昌地处中原腹地，历史悠久，是中国古代“历史文化名城”。在历史中，曾是第一个世袭天朝——“夏朝”的发源地和国都；还曾是“三国时期”的“曹魏古都。”历史遗迹就有100多处。如著名的“许由墓”、“受禅台”、“三绝碑”、“华佗墓”、“关羽灞陵挑袍处”、“曹丞相府”、关羽夜读“春秋楼”、明代“周定王陵”等。

许昌不仅依存有这些珍贵的古迹，并且还存在多处历史上“古陶瓷的烧造遗址”在许昌境内及其周边。如著名的：始于唐代盛于宋代的“禹州钧瓷官窑遗址”，宋元时期的“清凉寺汝官窑遗址”。还有“段店窑”、“张公巷窑”、“扒村窑”等窑遗址。更珍贵的是祖先还为世人遗留下了许多象征中国古代文明的和体现中华民族智慧的宝贵财产——“古代文物艺术品”从而供我们后人研究，探讨与欣赏。

由于许昌德天独厚的文化地理位置，张水奇从小又生长在历史古城，加之父亲去世后给他留下一些传世古物。促使他成年后对学习研究古代文化及艺术品产生了深厚的兴趣。古代文物中所隐含的博大精深的特殊魅力，深深吸引着他，使他从此走向收藏之路而欲罢不能。

从78年开始，他常常利用工作之余或公差外出：如许昌周边：巩义、开封、洛阳，远途的：西安、北京、哈尔滨、吉林、沈阳等阳，只要遇到喜欢的东西时，不管那瓷瓶、大罐体积大与小，路途有多远，他都会克服种种困难倾其囊中所有，想尽办法一定将宝物带回家。

在七、八十年代人们生活还不是那么富裕，有人为生计会拿家传宝物去寄卖店变卖，却很少要买古物件，但张水奇却常用自己的差旅补贴或节省出的钱，用来买古物。当时曾有同事问他：人家出差去商场买现代用品捎回家，你咋老往古董店买东西？他答：我喜欢。后同事送他“张古董”。

90年代初改革开放后,各地古玩市相继开放、活跃，张水奇仍常常抽出休息时间去各地古玩市场转一转，看一看。由于对真假已掌握了一定鉴别能力，所以古玩市场上尽管出现有很多仿、赝品，但他确能“一眼真”做出判断，如果遇到真品、精品他更是不惜重金把他收入囊中。

从78年至今，40多年来，张水奇对收藏和对古代艺术品的潜心研究从不间断，持之一恒。不仅他练就了一副“眼学”本领，还能在显微镜下对古物的各种如：陈旧感、结晶体等表现特点等有颇深研究，并有相当专业水平。他至今为国家收藏保护古代瓷器600多件，铜器、玉器、字画、钱币等100多件。

张水奇在当地藏界稍有名气，其收藏专业水平得到了藏界藏友的口碑、好评和认可。他常对前来进行探讨的藏友义务讲解专业知识，还常对慕名而来的（如深圳、珠海、北京、洛阳、开封等）外地的专家、老师、朋友来参观的人展示自己藏品并进行交流、学习探讨。从中取得了很多乐趣。张水奇夫人是一名大学教职工，在收藏方面他们协手并肩，志趣相投，在对张水奇的收藏事业上给予他多方面的配合与支持。

2020年4月，加入世界文化艺术界联合会，担任总部常务委员兼高级顾问，同时担任亚洲收藏协会副秘书长。
