“奥林匹克休战墙”平昌奥运村揭幕

意在促进世界和平的“奥林匹克休战墙”5日在2018年平昌冬奥会的两个运动员村揭幕。此次休战墙的主题为“搭建桥梁”，反映国际奥委会和平昌冬奥组委期盼和平、团结的愿望。

　　在奥运村设立奥林匹克休战墙是奥运会的一个传统。本次平昌冬奥会位于平昌和江陵的两处奥运村内都设置了休战墙。墙高约3米、宽约7米，每面墙的中间部分都向下弯曲倒下，犹如拱桥的形状，体现打破壁垒，搭建和平桥梁的寓意。国际奥委会和平昌冬奥组委希望奥运村中的运动员和官员都能够在休战墙上签名或留下期盼和平的美好愿望。之后两面休战墙还将分别被送往平昌奥林匹克广场和江陵奥林匹克公园向观赛观众进行展示。

　　国际奥委会主席巴赫出席当日的揭幕仪式，他表示希望奥林匹克休战墙能够起到连接世界的桥梁的作用。平昌冬奥组委主席李熙范则表示，平昌冬奥会是一届和平的奥运会，奥林匹克休战墙的揭幕是期盼和平的具体表现，象征着每个人因为体育而团结在一起。

　　值得一提的是，此次国际奥委会对于“奥林匹克休战墙”的英文官方名称进行了修改，放弃了意为“墙壁、围墙”的单词WALL，还是选择了有“墙画、壁画”意思的单词MURAL，以突出开放团结的理念。
