悉尼火车站木质旧扶梯成浮雕艺术 城市记忆重获新生

人民网悉尼12月21日电 今年年初，为了完成对悉尼中央商务区温亚德车站（Wynyard Station）的升级改造，充满历史感的木质自动扶梯被拆除。而后这些扶梯作为浮雕雕塑的一部分，在艺术家的再创作下获得重生。

该浮雕名为“Interloop”，被安装在原车站纽约街入口处的新自动扶梯底部的上方。据悉，雕塑由高强度船用铝制成，安装悬挂在车站内天花板的新钢梁上，其中焊接长度超过一千米。浮雕总重达5吨，将两对总长超过50米的旧木质扶梯重新连接组装，由244块木质扶梯踏板以及4个自动扶梯梳组成。

设计者克里斯·福克斯，是来自悉尼大学建筑设计与规划学院的一名讲师、艺术家和雕塑家。据了解，为完成这一公共艺术项目，他花费了六个月的时间进行设计及工程，之后耗费12个星期进行制作，最后由多名工人进行了长达48小时的安装。

克里斯·福克斯称，这是对历史悠久的木制自动扶梯进行实物重新演绎，旨在连接过去和未来，唤起人们对过去乘客以及旅行方式的记忆。

车站里最早的木质扶梯由1931年建成，每天搭载数千名乘客已经超过八十年，是世界上最早投入使用的自动扶梯。直到拆除之前，它们已是全球仅剩不多且仍在使用的木质电梯。

据了解，现在每天约有10万人通过温亚德车站，它已成为悉尼第三繁忙的火车站。新南威尔士州交通部门预计，未来十年内每日乘客将增至15万人。原木质扶梯再难适应如此高强度的载客量。其宽大的木踏板，对穿高跟鞋的乘客造成不便，导盲犬也曾因爪子卡在扶梯梳里而受伤。

新南威尔士州中央商务区的运输协调员玛格·普伦德加斯特说，许多人对木制扶梯恋恋不舍，每个人都有关于这个车站的记忆，因而尊重车站传统尤为重要。此外，玛格希望减轻公众对这一建筑物安全问题的担忧。她称，已经确保所有的安全措施及阻燃措施。
