悉尼火车站木质旧扶梯成浮雕艺术 城市记忆重获新生
人民网悉尼12月21日电 今年年初,为了完成对悉尼中央商务区温亚德车站(Wynyard Station)的升级改造,充满历史感的木质自动扶梯被拆除。而后这些扶梯作为浮雕雕塑的一部分,在艺术家的再创作下获得重生。
该浮雕名为“Interloop”,被安装在原车站纽约街入口处的新自动扶梯底部的上方。据悉,雕塑由高强度船用铝制成,安装悬挂在车站内天花板的新钢梁上,其中焊接长度超过一千米。浮雕总重达5吨,将两对总长超过50米的旧木质扶梯重新连接组装,由244块木质扶梯踏板以及4个自动扶梯梳组成。
设计者克里斯·福克斯,是来自悉尼大学建筑设计与规划学院的一名讲师、艺术家和雕塑家。据了解,为完成这一公共艺术项目,他花费了六个月的时间进行设计及工程,之后耗费12个星期进行制作,最后由多名工人进行了长达48小时的安装。
克里斯·福克斯称,这是对历史悠久的木制自动扶梯进行实物重新演绎,旨在连接过去和未来,唤起人们对过去乘客以及旅行方式的记忆。
